All programs will be designed with a heavy emphasis on the importance of good character. Direct instruction on character traits will be provided using the six pillars of the Character Counts! model to Youth Center participants. I-in-Y will support the character development program used at the local school district to teach youth that character counts everywhere - all of the time. Youth will also be engaged in service projects at places such as the local Fireman's Home, Daycare Center, Soup Kitchen, Humane Society, Nursing Home and Habitat for Humanity.
